“na nityam labhtea duhkham na nityam labhatea sukhaM”

“న నిత్యం లభతే దుఃఖం న నిత్యం లభతే సుఖమ్||”
   (వ్యాసభారతం, శాంతిపర్వం, 174వ అధ్యాయం, 20వ శ్లోకం ఉత్తరార్ధం)

All days are never always filled with sorrow
Nor all days always be filled with pleasure!

Vyasa’s sayings – 2

अन्तो नास्ति पिपासायाः संतोषं परमं सुखम।
तस्मात् संतोशमेवेह परं पश्यन्ति पण्डिता।।
(वनपर्वं, द्वितियध्ययं, ४६ श्लोकं)

అన్తో నాస్తి పిపాసాయాః సంతోషః పరమం సుఖం
తస్మాత్ సంతోషమేవేహ పరం పశ్యన్తి పణ్డితాః||
(భారతం, వనపర్వం, ద్వితీయాధ్యాయం, 46వ శ్లోకం)

No end there is for desire;
            to be satisfied gives immense pleasure
It is always to remain satisfied that is required,
                                         say the highly learned.
