An unusual comparison…

analaM biMchukayaina ba
vanuchē velugoMdu māDki vardhanamuM boM
dunu satkarmācharaNaM
buna daivamu nānukūlyamu gurupravarā!

క. అనలం బించుక యైనఁ బ
   వనుచే వెలుఁగొందు మాడ్కి వర్ధనముం బొం

The fire might be very small in size, just a spark,
But when accompanied by the air fast it spreads
And becomes a big blaze, good deeds are so alike
When supported by God grow without any bounds.

నిప్పురవ్వ కంటికి కనిపించనంత చిన్నదిగా, వెలుతురు రవ్వంతగా ఉంటుంది. అయితే, ఆ రవ్వంత నిప్పుకే గాలి గనుక తోడైతే అది వ్యాపించి పెద్దదై క్షణాలలోనే పెద్ద జ్వాలగా మరిపోతుంది. ఆ విధంగానే, మంచి పని చేయడం ఎంత చిన్నదిగా మొదలైనా, దైవానుకూలత తోడైతే పెరిగి పెద్దదై మనిషికి ఎంతో మేలు చేకూరుస్తుంది.

Comparison made in this poem is a very uncommon one. A ‘good-deed’ is compared to the ‘fire-particle’ in this poem. As a small particle of fire when associated with the blowing of air spreads in all directions and becomes a big blaze in a few minutes, a good-deed when associated with the support of the Almighty God would get all the required strength and would grow uninterruptedly and do much good to the mankind.
